Think of what you can do to lessen the effects of Coronavirus

This Lent we all are fasting in ways we never planned or expected.
Going without:
people we spend time with
routines
work
pay
busy-ness
excess
travel
school
apart in person but together in spirit
But in so many ways we are abundantly blessed. Despite the Coronavirus, people are putting othersfirst, risking their own health to help, giving their skills and goods. God’s people are helping all people. Maybe this will make all people become God’s people.
Ugly politics are forgotten. People are reaching not only across the aisle but across the world. Instead of tearing people down, they are building people up, giving to each a measure of help and hope.
God bless us one and all.

Lent is a season of freedom!

Freedom from:
anger, hate, fear, worry, doubt, dread, and so much more....what will you ask God freedom from this Lenten season?

hope your Lent began beautifully

I seem to have done better at fasting when I was young. maybe that's normal but I am not happy with my start this lent. I must pray more, listen more and believe more fully

Lenten Thoughts

This Lenten season:

Give up chocolate if you must

but better to assist the unjust.

Give up coffee if helpful

but maybe consider being more prayerful.

Give up sugar for your physical good

or rev up your relationship with God for spiritual good.

Give up TV finding more time to waste on other vices

or rather give up more time to help others fight their own vices.

Give up if you choose, tangible stuff

or give up weakness and become Christ tough.

choices for Lent

What to give up for Lent:

EXCESS:

• Words that say nothing to lift up

• Fears that will most likely never come true

• Worries that waste energy and faith

• Thoughts that steal your hope

• Habits that attack your body and spirit

• Accumulation that clutters your life

• Obsessions that lead to self- destruction

• Guilt that robs your confidence

Day 262 Ash Wednesday and Lenten thoughts

What to give up for Lent:
whining "poor me"
worry over what happens next
lack of self discipline
fear of the future
regret over the past

What to take on for Lent:
trust in God
belief in answered prayer
strengthening the body, mind and spirit
living the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control)
living heaven's way on earth

These thoughts are just to get you thinking about your own life, what to improve and what to ignore, what to work on and what to forget, what to believe and what to let go of. Release is a life long process just as I learned with balance last year (focus words). Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and develop our spiritual nature. It is the only part of our life that is truly ours to determine and by doing so we prepare for our eternity with God.

Lenten Season

,
A rhapsody of hopes

tears at my soul.

A novella of lives

fight each other's existence.

Dreams of perfection

haunt my days.

Wishes and fantasies of fulfillment

convulse in my mind.

A belief system of faith

creates a sanctuary for me and

solace is found there.
