Games are not what we want to play but.....
it's all about finding balance at any one given moment of all the moments in our day.
if that is a game then so be it. I will play.

At years end...
As the year ends
I think of how hard it was but
I survived,
seeking balance and releasing negatives;
Trusting God and prayer;
believing Christ and holding on to the Spirit.
May I continue into 2011 and
learn the difficult lesson that I have
another great gift--freedom of choice.
I may not be able to choose every situation
but I can choose my reaction to any situation.

Day 94 seeking Balance and finding Syncronicity
I love when things line up. Been focusing on balance all year and it's been hard but I've learned that to have balance things must first be imbalanced so that's a good thing. My life has certainly been out of balance for a while but this year is the real test. At least since May 31st when Dad had his stroke. Well, tomorrow he comes home!!!!! Praying we are all up to the task of caregiving now needed.
I also find it a direct blessing when synchronicity happens. (You know at the same providential time.) Well, after writing the piece on listening yesterday, I received a phone tree message from our pastor about . . . L I S T E N I N G! So trying hard to listen for lessons to strengthen, bless and heal my hurting body, mind and soul!

Final Lessons-Visioning

Here are my final journal pages for the True North Arts Visioning Journal Workshop!
Here's a link to the workshop if you care to try it! http://collagediva.typepad.com/vision/
These last two images are all about acrylic paint, collage materials (found and created), words and the passion to find balance in my life. My word focus and attitude for 2009.
I admit to being addicted to art and creating. It's the one place I feel free, peaceful, and truly M E ! My passion is ART and it affords me balance in every aspect of my life. I realized recently, after depending on my journaling to get me through Dad's stroke recovery, art and words are my desired drug of choice. Without them I'd be completely insane!

Diversions can be relaxing! Balance!

Doing an online workshop on Vision Journaling over at http://collagediva.typepad.com/
It's still not too late to sign up. The first lesson is in relaxation. Trying to relax is never easy for me and especially now while my Dad is in Day 55 recovering from a stroke. I have been writing and art journaling the whole process on my blog here; so this workshop will hopefully further the recovery for me. One thing people don't tell you about strokes...the family is in recovery too! I've posted my first vision journal piece here in this post. This just may be what I need. First, we must realize we need relaxation and are not getting adequate amounts. Then we need a good kick in the pants to make it happen. Thanks Kathryn!
(The face and picture of Kiawah sunrise are mine. Stamped words are mine. Using a watercolor bound book for these prompts. Paints are acrylic and watercolor and distress ink.)

Can B A L A N C E be far behind?

Always hopeful and
continuing in prayer,
she follows after God's own heart.
Keeping his spirit by
means of trust is second nature.
Can balance be far behind?
Living the Christian life makes
any situation doable.
Look at those around you.
See their ability
to handle whatever life throws at them.
Observe from afar and
it will lift your hopes and spirit.
See the invaluable lessons of life
as a means to a better life lived fully.
Confidence in trusting the
Holy Guide for everything along the way,
always praying and trying to be the best you can be
will make for a pretty near perfect life.
Image is new watercolor work in progress. Inspired from journal page "Was she ever here?"

Balance

To find a quiet moment
and hear a message from within
leads to a feeling of balance.
To care for the soul
and nurture the spirit
leads to a feeling of calm completion.
To trust your Maker
and understand your blessings
leads to a life of joy and peace.
To share your resources
and knowledge
leads to finding your purpose.
To give of your talent
and use your abilities
fulfills your purpose
To lift another's spirit
and increase their self worth
humbles your own life
and gives it a sweetness like nothing else.
Obsession with Woman A to Z continues.
Here's a little sampler.
