needy in the stillness
I need a day away from home to sit quietly with God, paper
and pencil with a view of glory.
I need a family who forgives, forgets, and forbears.
I need a home that is simple and organized, calm and
peaceful.
I need a life that is tranquil and easy going.
I need friends who are less needy.
I need sleep that restores and invigorates.
I need chores that are finished quickly.
I need errands that are in one place.
I need a God who knows I’m just a whiny wimp.
Oh, yeah, He does.

I will with God's help!
I will keep hoping.
I will believe in God’s timing
and plan.
I will trust things to be ok.
I will find true happiness.
I will accept life as it comes.
I will not let hate, anger and
fear rule me anymore.
I will pray.
I will worship.
I will praise.
I will understand.
I will forgive.
I will love the life I have.
I will care for the people in it.
I will count my blessings.
I will know that God will never
forsake me.
I will read and study my Bible.
I will get rid of things I don’t need,
that no longer serve me.
I will live in a quiet peaceful
home.
I will get myself healthy.
I will ask for little.
I will appreciate all things.
I will do what God wants me to
do.

faith grows in stillness
In the stillness
Of the morning
I wait for God’s voice
In the quiet of my heart
I hear him
In the solitude of spirit
I feel him
In the serenity of soul
I know him
In the silence of grace
I am one with him

take time...be still...pay attention
Good things happen all around us, do we notice?
Why does the news start with bad news?
Why does the media relay on terrible things for their
validation?
Why do we spread bad news faster than good news?
I guess I will never know.

The Message doesn't change!
Yesterday I was reading in one of
my devotionals from Unity. (One of my son’s former Sunday school teachers gave
me a subscription to Daily Word, a Unity devotional.) This book was about
healing. I was enjoying it until I came upon a story about a gay male couple. I
was so upset I threw it away. How can a Christian publication not know the
scripture? How can they rewrite it and make it okay. God calls it an
abomination. I believe it. I will not renew my subscription and I will send a
note saying why. I will no longer use their
prayer line. This is the trajectory all over the world and I do not like it. It
is the reason so much is wrong in the world. Who knows? Maybe it even caused
the pandemic. It’s so hard to explain to believers, let alone non-believers.
Maybe there are too many versions of the Bible. God’s word is God breathed. His
word states truth when it is read from the original translation. There are too
many versions that not only try to take out thee’s and thou’s but it takes out
truth. Lord, we need your guidance in putting your truth out in the world and
keeping it out in the forefront. People need to know what God really said and
says. His message does not change. Never has. Never will.

a room of one's own
A place to be alone, quiet, and free.
A place to rest, retreat, and reflect.
A place to create, write, and make like sweet.
A place to paint, pray, study, and BE with GOD. A War room
of sorts.

Outdoor service in the rare cool June day
This came to me during church:
Sky above me
Earth below me
I honor your presence Lord
Friends to the left
Friends to the right
I honor your presence Lord
God before me
God behind me
I honor your presence Lord
Love to give
Love to receive
I honor your presence Lord

Have we forgotten the GOLDEN RULE?
I think that and respect are the root causes of our society's ills.
Look it up in your Bible

Current reflection on the world of chaos!
Reading Maria Shriver’s
Sunday Paper. Of course she is as always speaking to the current world
issues. In this case the racial unrest (again). This time the man who was
brutalized by police and died. Now we know he was not the upstanding citizen
the people tried to make him. He was black and the police were white. They have
honored him in numerous protests, walks, signage, and services. How is that
possible? Being a criminal, big or small, is no reason to be killed but neither
is killing a criminal to be considered as a reason to honor him, just because
he is black. What is wrong with our world today? It is not racism. It is not
anger. It is not pain. It is not illness. IT IS LACK OF GOD. God, the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit.
Return to God’s simple rule
heal a world. It can heal a relationship. It can heal all
ills, socially, emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, and economically.

God
I
cannot change people’s minds or hearts.
You
can.
I
cannot make people understand.
You
can.
I
cannot compel anyone to believe as me.
You
can.
I
cannot see inside someone’s mind.
You
can.
You
alone know the way to recovery.
Help
us see the possibility.
Help
us see the completion of your will.
Help
us see the way of peace and love.
Help
us see each other as you do.
Amen.

Do you make a lasting impression?
Share God's love.
Listen to God's people.
Pray for your Christian family.
Give to support Christ's work in the world.
Spoil each other with holy impressions from God.

a Coastal Psalm 23
The Lord is my navigator, I shall not perish.
He helps me walk down sandy shores.
He leads me beside crashing waves.
He takes me down paths of Spanish covered oaks.
Even though my mind wanders He gives me new views.
I will fear nothing.
He is with me.
His love and joy comfort me.
He refreshes the surf and sand before me
in the presence of fellow beachcombers.
He anoints me with salty air.
Surely His mercy and grace will follow me home and
I will dwell in His glory forever.

Hope--Not Alone
Lord,
I can’t go it alone.
You must go before me.
If You can answer all the prayers of those I lift up each
day,
Then I need nothing more.
Carrying these prayer needs is a burden that hurts me daily.
I know You oh Lord are busy meeting every single need.
I thank You humbly.
I need only trust
Your way, Your truth, Your life.
I am depending on You.
In Christ,
Amen

seeking fellowship
In this world of stillness
We bow in reverence to the
One in control
We ask for strength to carry us through
And grace to see us to the end
And faith we will not forget
To continue sharing God’s abundance and love
Why do we wait till it’s too late?
Why do we allow time to be wasted?
Why do we show so little love?
Why do we think we have tomorrow?
Why do we think we can do it later?
Why, why, why?

balance and nature
Finding balance involves
Being calm amidst storms.
Exhibiting balance is a matter
Of choosing to not sweat the small stuff.
The best effort for balance is not allowing
The negative to rule.
