Remembering Mom
Happy Birthday Mom! Ninety years! I only knew you 61. I have
missed you for two. Fifteen actually, I began to lose you to Alzheimers when
you were 75. I love you. I miss you daily. I talk to you constantly. I feel you
guiding me and in my heart. I know heaven is wonderful. I know you and dad are
happy together with all the rest of the saints from our family, friends and
church members. I wish I was there. I guess I will just have to wait a while but I will see you
some day.
I’m tired. I’m sick. I didn’t sleep. I guess I will just
have to survive. I guess I will make it. If I can just get to Kiawah tomorrow.
Yes, tomorrow. Two years ago, my week was cut short a day because mom was
dying. Now I am. We all are this side of heaven. From the first breath, we are
dying. We cannot slow it down or stop it even. We can make the most of it. We
can learn and grow and create a life. We can go to school. We can work. We can
fall in love. We can get married. We can start families. We can bury our loved
ones. We can repeat this over and over. We can find joy and hope. We can find
hurt and anger. We can know God and understand the importance in this life. We
can ignore God and bury ourselves before we die. Life is short and if we don’t
spend it doing good things for good people, we may never know the real purpose
of life.

What is your LIFE'S defining moment?
Heard this question this morning. Thought it was one we all needed to answer for ourselves. Ponder it. Look at your life. Figure it out. Maybe answering it will be your defining moment. Someone said, "It's never too late to be who you were meant to be." Be that person today.

Life should not be a performance.
We should be able to live a life of truth, be the person we truly are and NOT have to put on airs or false personas. God made us whole and in his image and that is the person we should portray.

what really matters
What matters in life? Salvation. Love. Health. Happiness.
Dedication. Grace. Fellowship.
Salvation – trust God. Give him your life and he will give
you everything you need. NEED. Love – love God and be loved. It is the greatest
commandment. Health – treat your body as God’s temple and it will give you
years of service. Happiness – choose joy and it will be abundant. Dedication –
give yourself to who and what matters. God is always there for you if you keep
looking for him and finding him beside you. Stay true to your family. Support
them. Be blessed by them. Grace – accept it. It is a gift from God, life
itself. Fellowship – spend time with the ones who think, believe and live like
you do, within the realms of God’s will.
This all sounds so simple and truly, it really is. Don’t
give up. Try. Do. Live God’s plan for your life and nothing will ever be any
sweeter or more prosperous. Share this wonderful lifestyle with everyone you
care for and it will never cease to surprise and bless you. Go the distance.
Persist. Trust.

reflections after Mom's passing
Life weary
I am tired but
God hold me and I rest in his embrace if only to the end of
this sentence
Lost, broken
In need of repair but
God can glue the pieces of my life together with his own
super glue
Hurt, questioning
I am still confused by life but
God has the balm and answers to every pain and inquiry
Dark, scared
I tremble but
God is my light and protector

art and life - layers of choice
life is full of layers
some are beautiful and nice
others are not so nice and must be endured
you have a choice to make many of the layers yourself
some are beautiful and nice
others are not so nice and must be endured
you have a choice to make many of the layers yourself

life as we knew it, is slipping away
The world is in chaos and that puts my petty problems into a
new perspective. My little issues are nothing in comparison! There is still an
air of racial heat. People are getting shot. Police are being put on admin
duty. People uninvolved are protesting, looting, and rioting. How much more can
God allow? He must be sickened by his world’s creation. It is time for him to
intervene. The world is slowly killing itself. It scares me. I dread what it
will become for the next generation. Bad things have happened in every decade,
century, and generation but with today’s issues, we are heading toward
self-destruction. The world we hope for is extinct. Can there be any peace and
beauty ever again? Why is this happening? When will God prevail?
Few people read the Bible, let alone, believe its truths.
The Ten Commandments are forgotten. God’s laws are ignored. God created a world
that was to work together for good and beauty. His world was to be protected
and cared for. His laws were to keep everything in balance. His creations
failed in keeping this balance or maintaining the world’s purpose.
If you are reading this I hope you will get on your knees
and pray. I hope you will find your Bible and read it. I hope you will see
God’s plan as divine. I hope you will see he made the variety of people for
purpose. I hope you will believe his plan and protect it. I hope you will make
his way the right way. I hope you will seek forgiveness and guidance to a
holier life. I hope you will accept salvation and live a life worthy of God’s
love.

seems that everyone is always reinventing
themselves, starting over and in need of LIFE 101 just to find balance and realize goals have changed and it's time to move on and continue growing up, maturing and learning what is important....
