life gets messy

A piece of quiet.

A pinch of hope.

A serving of joy.

My daily spiritual requirement.

A crust of bread.

A smidgen of protein.

A bit of sugar and vitamins.

My daily nutritional needs.

A few words to read and scribble.

A creative task or two.

A moment of clarity.

My soul’s purposeful demands.

A cubit of space.

A measure of privacy.

A breadth of self-indulgence.

My mind’s emotional necessities.

A night’s rest.

A devotional span.

A stretch of the legs.

My body’s physical musts.

A gross of nature.

A sum of aloneness.

A time with my thoughts.

My entire being’s essentials.

sometimes it's all about me

To understand me

You must speak my language.

To get me you must know my needs.

To love me

You must respect my space.

today is simply all you need

Today is the day to walk in his way.

Now is the time to experience his rhyme.

Always find your hope and he will help you cope.

Believe in your own worth and he will increase your faith.

Grace him with your love and he will stay with you from above.

found poetry

Stripped bare

Life has lost texture

No intention

Energy stolen

Meaning absent

Mute and pointless

Locked away

And heartless

Body and spirit broken

Transparent and invisible

(save phrases you like or that speak to you and combine into a poem)

my secret garden's bounty

Life’s thorns
Pierce heart
Life’s grace
Patches soul

World cares
Rob joy
World mercy
Restores spirit
Nature’s trouble
Ruin days
Nature’s glory
Restarts living

Satan’s sneers
Raise doubt
God’s peace
Increases faith

Let Freedom Ring!

Mother-son 7-second art project

My son, Matthew, recently took a video of me painting a simple watercolor beach scene using a new smart phone video app called Vine. You have 7 seconds, with as many frames as you can take. Here is a still photo of the quick watercolor.
